What Clients Bring in:

AFTER MENOPAUSE

Dryness, pain, and desire that faded and hasn't returned. Much of the physical side responds to medical treatment. The rest – how you feel about wanting and being wanted – is where therapy comes in.

SEX LATER IN LIFE

A new relationship at seventy, a long marriage in retirement, or a partner whose health has changed. Sex later in life deserves the same specialized attention as sex at any other age.

AFTER PROSTATE TREATMENT

Surgery and radiation change erections, and often orgasm and ejaculation as well. A satisfying sex life is still possible, and it usually begins with letting go of the comparison to how things used to be.

WANTING DIFFERENT AMOUNTS

One of you wants more, the other less, and the difference has become an argument about love. The meaning each of you attaches to sex usually matters more than how often it happens.

AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist in FL

Sex therapy for bodies and relationships that have changed. I’m a licensed clinical social worker and an AASECT-certified sex therapist, and I work online with individuals and couples across Florida on sex after illness or menopause, desire that has faded, erectile concerns, pain, and the assumption that this is simply how things are now.

Menopause, prostate treatment, a heart condition, a new medication, turning sixty-five. People are often told, or tell themselves, that sex belongs to an earlier chapter. For most, it doesn’t. What changes is how sex works, and very few couples were ever shown how to rebuild it around the body they have now.

What I treat: sex after menopause, prostate cancer treatment, surgery, or illness; erectile difficulties and performance anxiety; low or mismatched desire; pain with sex; difficulty reaching orgasm; sexual shame rooted in family or religion; and sexual behavior that feels out of your control. Licensed in Florida (#SW25631), statewide.

I hold an MA in Trauma and Crisis Studies from Tel Aviv University, an MSW from Yeshiva University, and earned certification in sex therapy through the Modern Sex Therapy Institutes.

I live in Brooklyn with my husband and our dog, Bernie. When I’m not in session, I write and produce music.

How Sex Therapy Works

Sex therapy is talk therapy with a specialist in sexuality and sexual health. There’s no physical contact or examination. We talk directly about what’s happening, including the medical side, and I may suggest exercises for between sessions.

Yes, when it helps. I coordinate with urologists and pelvic floor physical therapists so the medical and psychological sides of the problem are addressed together.

That’s no problem. I’m also licensed in New York, New Jersey, and New Hampshire, so our work can continue through a seasonal move.

Is This For Me?

No. Some of my most rewarding work is with people in their sixties and seventies who had been told to stop expecting much.

Yes. Many clients begin on their own, and some bring a partner in later.

No. I’m out-of-network. Sessions are $200, and I provide a monthly superbill you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement. Check your benefits in about a minute.
